In layman terms, custom-made Orthotics are special insoles that are moulded to the exact shape of your feet. Having insoles that fit the contours of your feet can improve support, increase comfort, and reduce pain.
Foot, ankle, knee, and hip biomechanics are complex. Orthotics should not be prescribed without a thorough examination – at least a half hour, and more if the case is complex. Do not get those on the shelf ones! Everyone’s feet are different – even your right foot is different than your right foot, there is no such orthotics that fits all.
Common conditions that orthotics have the most potential to help:
Not many of us were blessed with perfect feet! According to studies, less than 10% of the world population would have what is called a normal or neutral foot, meaning a foot that does not require any special care or support to maintain its shape when loaded with the body weight. Orthotics are inserts added inside the footwear to support the foot’s natural structure. Your feet are the base of support of your entire skeleton, so they may affect the entire body if they are tilted or not straight, just like the Tour of Pisa!
It is encouraged to get your feet checked as early as possible in your life. By taking this precaution, it can help prevent many issues that you may encounter in the future.

How: Canada, custom fit in sole, panel of orthoticians
How are custom-made Orthotics created?
What we use is scientifically based protocol using a device called the Architect. The architect visualizes the bottom of the foot and the weight bearing of the foot. When you have a biomechanical flaw that we identity with the Artchitect, then what we do is send that to a lab that specifically builds a custom-made orthotics just for you. Our labs are based in Canada and your this custom Orthotic will be developed by a panel of qualified Podiatrists with over 20 years of experience.
This custom-built Orthotics are in different sizes and thicknesses styles depending on your activity so it is very important that your foot is dynamically designed to walk the way you should walk. It should give you a springing action to your foot which helps to prevent bunion formation, flat feet, heel spurs and many more. When your feet are off or imbalanced, it can make your knees off too. As a whole it can protect your feet, knee, hip and lower back as well.
